Amelia Island Can’t be Topped

It seems fitting that Amelia Island is located at the very tip-top of the state of Florida; this destination is second to none when it comes to delivering a pitch-perfect vacation experience.

Horseback riding on the beach, playing golf on one of the many stunning courses, spying sea turtles laying their eggs each night and canoeing through the marshes are a few ideas to get you started. This is the place to explore a personal interest that has lately gone ignored or perhaps make it a goal to try as many new things as possible.

Attend the Antique Car Show, play some tennis, take advantage of Fort Clinch’s hike and bike trails or pick up some “Swamp Art” for your souvenir shelf. Strike a romantic note by taking a sunset sail on a schooner from the 1840’s, acquire a few tidbits of trivia at the Amelia Island Museum of History and burn a few calories by strolling the mile-long pedestrian bridge in the State Park.

As you can see, everyone’s vacation style will be well-suited in a spot that offers activities like this. With so many choices no one will find reason, or time, to complain – except when it’s time to leave. There’s always the option of a long-term condo rental (crazier things have been done) but even a few days in this lovely land of top-notch sights, sounds and sensations will do you good.
